What Does It Mean to Be Muslim?

A Muslim is someone who believes in:

How to Become Muslim

Becoming Muslim is simple and sincere.

A person enters Islam by sincerely believing and declaring the shahadah:

“Ashhadu an lā ilāha illa Allah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasūl Allah.”

“I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

There is no requirement to know Arabic, change your culture, or become perfect before becoming Muslim.

If you are interested in taking shahadah:

  • you may contact ISF directly,
  • or speak with the Imam after prayer or Jummah.

ISF is happy to support individuals privately and respectfully throughout the process.

For Family Members and Friends

Family members and friends of new Muslims are also welcome at ISF.

We understand that accepting Islam can bring questions, emotions, and new experiences for loved ones. ISF aims to provide a respectful and welcoming environment where people can:

  • ask questions,
  • learn about Islam,
  • visit the masjid,
  • and better understand the Muslim community.

There is never any pressure or expectation to convert in order to visit or learn.

Visiting the Masjid

Visitors are welcome to attend ISF and learn more about Islam.

If you are visiting for the first time:

  • modest clothing is appreciated,
  • shoes are removed before entering prayer areas,
  • and community members are happy to help answer questions.

Many people first learn about Islam simply by visiting the masjid, observing prayer, and meeting the community.
