Proof of Consent (Opt-In) Collected
The Islamic Society of Frederick (ISF) collects explicit consent from individuals before sending SMS/MMS communications. The following outlines how consent is obtained, stored, and maintained in compliance with Twilio policies, TCPA regulations, and applicable laws.
For questions regarding SMS communications or consent, please contact ISF at: info@isfmd.org
1. Consent Collection Methods
ISF obtains opt-in consent through the following channels, where applicable:
- Website Forms:
Individuals enter their phone number and check a clearly labeled opt-in box agreeing to receive SMS messages from ISF. - Event Registration (Online & In-Person):
Participants provide consent when registering for ISF programs, events, or community activities. - Community Sign-Ups:
Members may opt in via community forms, QR codes, or kiosks available at the masjid. - Keyword Opt-In:
Individuals may opt in by texting a designated keyword (e.g., “JOIN”) to an ISF number, with confirmation sent upon enrollment. - Administrative or Service Requests:
Consent may be collected when individuals request updates (e.g., program alerts, announcements, or service-related notifications).
2. Clear Disclosure & Messaging Compliance
At the point of opt-in, individuals are clearly informed of:
- Purpose of messages (e.g., announcements, events, reminders, community updates)
- Expected frequency (e.g., “Up to 4 messages per month”)
- Message and data rates may apply
- Opt-out instructions (e.g., “Reply STOP to unsubscribe”)
- Link to ISF Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions
3. Consent Storage & Record-Keeping
ISF maintains records of consent, including:
- Timestamp of opt-in (date and time)
- Source of consent (e.g., website, event form, keyword)
- IP address/device data (for online submissions, where applicable)
- Confirmation logs of user opt-in and acknowledgments
Messaging activity is logged through the SMS platform to ensure proper tracking of opt-ins, opt-outs, and communication history.
4. Opt-Out & Preference Management
Individuals may opt out at any time by:
- Replying “STOP” to any message
- Contacting ISF directly to request removal
- Following opt-out instructions provided in messages
All opt-out requests are processed promptly, and users will not receive further messages unless they opt in again.
5. Compliance Monitoring & Updates
ISF regularly reviews its messaging practices to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and platform policies. Periodic checks are conducted to confirm that consent records are properly maintained and up to date.
