Know the real history of ISF

ISF has a variety of services to aid our Muslim population as well as our non-Muslim neighbors. We strive to bring a greater understanding of Islam and Muslims to our own community and to those around us using the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) as our guides. The Islamic Society of Frederick (ISF) is located in the heart of Frederick, Maryland. The community has grown considerably from a few families when it was incorporated in the early 1990’s to a few hundred families today.

Brief history of ISF

ISF has a variety of services to aid our Muslim population as well as our non-Muslim neighbors. We strive to bring a greater understanding of Islam and Muslims to our own community and to those around us using the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) as our guides. The Islamic Society of Frederick (ISF) is located in the heart of Frederick, Maryland. Goals of ISF

  • To serve the Muslim community and help Muslims strengthen their faith and moral conduct.
  • To help the Muslim community continue to be an effective contributor to the advancement of the Society.
  • To establish strong relations with other faiths based on cooperation, tolerance, and mutual understanding in order to serve our respective communities.
  • To help all individuals in our community to lead a productive life that is free from crime, substance abuse, and discrimination.

Methods 

  • By conducting seminars, lectures, religious sermons, social activities, sports, and educational functions based on the divine teachings of Islam.
  • By organizing interfaith dialogues.
  • By exchanging visits with members of other faiths.
  • By offering Islamic education classes for hundreds of Muslim children in Sunday schools.
  • By establishing clear operational hours for the observance of the five daily prayers.
  • By hosting multiple Friday prayers with notable Imams and speakers.
  • By celebrating the two Eids and conducting the players by participating in outreach groups and interfaith coalitions.
  • By collecting and distributing Zakat and Sadaqa.
